The format we keep for the regulars and for October. Seven nights because it takes four days to settle and we keep the other three to enjoy it. Below, in three passages: the settling, the empty day, the long ending.
the first days are for settling.
You arrive Saturday evening. The first three days look like the five-night stay: breakfast at seven, the surf session at eight, Lalla Khadija's long lunch, the afternoon we don't touch. Except this time you know you have time.
That's the difference. In five nights, you count the days left. In seven, the first days don't count — they set the body on the light, on the hour of meals, on the idea that there's nothing to catch up on.
on the fourth day, nothing happens — and that's the point.
It's the day the regulars come for. We propose no outing, no market, no session. The house runs at half speed. You sleep in the afternoon without having to justify it.
Most people can't remember what they did that day, and that's exactly what we're after. The absence of a programme is the programme — but it takes seven nights for a whole day to be given to that.
the second market week, and the sea that changes.
The second Saturday, we go back to Tiznit. By then the moon has turned, and the sea is no longer quite what it was on arrival. Those who surf have felt it; the others have seen it from the corniche.
The last dinner is at eight, like all the others. You leave Saturday morning. No one leaves in a hurry to return — seven nights is long enough that the missing takes a year to form.
The seven-night stay begins on a Saturday evening and ends on a Saturday morning. Ten meals included. Two Saturday markets in Tiznit, a car if you feel like it, drinks and service included. Only four weeks per season.
