who runs this site, how to book, how to cancel.

There are some things we have to tell you for legal reasons (the law requires us to make them public). We have tried to write them the way we would say them out loud, because the standard legal format does not sound like the house.
Service description
OAA acts as the editorial and booking interface for a curated collection of small surf and editorial camps. We design the customer journey, hold the wholesale supply contract with the host camp, and process payment.
The physical stay (accommodation, surf instruction, meals) is operated by the host camp under a wholesale-supply agreement with OAA.
Booking process
A booking is confirmed when you complete the Stripe checkout flow and we send you a booking-confirmation email. The deposit (typically 30%) is charged at booking; the balance is charged automatically 30 days before the stay.
If the balance payment fails, we contact you and grant a 7-day grace period before the booking is automatically cancelled and the deposit retained as cancellation fee.
Cancellation summary
Cancellation is governed by our refund policy (see /legal/refund-policy). The summary tiers are: full refund (less Stripe fees) up to 30 days before the stay; 50% refund between 14 and 29 days; no refund under 14 days.
Force-majeure events (government travel ban, airport closure, natural disaster) trigger a 50/50 share-of-loss clause: customer is refunded 100%; the host camp invoices OAA at 50% of wholesale.
Force majeure
Neither party is liable for failure to perform when caused by an event outside reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disaster, government travel ban, airport closure, war, civil unrest, pandemic public-health measures.
Force-majeure refund treatment is detailed in our refund policy.
Liability limits
Our liability is limited to the amount paid for the stay. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages including loss of enjoyment, missed connecting flights, or personal injury sustained during sporting activities undertaken at your own risk.
You are responsible for travel insurance covering medical, repatriation, and trip-cancellation risks. We strongly recommend purchasing such insurance before departure.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the country in which the OAA brand legal entity is registered. For Brand FR: French law applies. For Brand DE: German law applies. For Brand NORD: Swedish law applies.
Mandatory consumer-protection rules of your habitual residence apply where they are more favourable to you than the chosen governing law.
Dispute resolution
We endeavour to resolve disputes amicably through direct contact. If amicable resolution fails, you may refer the dispute to the competent consumer mediator before initiating legal proceedings.
The competent court is determined by the governing-law clause above; consumer-protection mandatory venue rules apply where they are more favourable to you.
