three ways to be here three, five, or seven days.

We've never sold anything but time. Three lengths, because three times we tried writing four days or six days, and three times it seemed to describe something other than a stay here.

three days, the first time.

For those who don't yet know whether the place is theirs. You commit to nothing; you look.

Friday evening, Saturday, Sunday, Monday morning. Four dinners, two breakfasts, a walk to the lighthouse if the light is good. No itinerary. We hand you the keys, we cook, we don't say much.

The three-night stay isn't out to change your life; it's the first taste, the one that tells you whether this place is yours. Most people leave having booked the following autumn.

five days, the stay.

The format the house is built around. Five nights because on the third, something opens — and we need the next two to make sure of it.

Arrive Tuesday late afternoon, leave Sunday morning. Five dinners cooked by Lalla Khadija, two walks to the cliffs, a day in Tiznit on Saturday for the market. No itinerary beyond that.

It's this stay we tell when we tell the house. Passage 04.iii of the journal, written last year, is exactly about these five days. Most of our guests come back to it — not all at once, but across three or four seasons.

seven days, once a year.

For people who need to eat the same tagine three times before deciding which version they prefer. Saturday to Saturday.

The format we keep for regulars and for October. Seven nights lets you see the moon turn, have two market Saturdays, and one perfectly empty day in the middle — the one where you do nothing and notice it.

We open four seven-night weeks a season: first week of October, last of November, second of February, last of March. No negotiating the dates; that's what makes it possible.

seven days, five at the house, two in the desert.

For the rare weeks of the year when we take the boards beyond Sidi Ifni. Five nights here, two in the dunes, one bivouac and one session on a reef few people know.

Monday to Friday at the house as usual. Friday noon: we load the 4×4s. Saturday-Sunday in the desert, two nights under tent near Foum Assaka. A reef. Three hours of tide. A coffee around the fire while the others sleep.

The format we open four or five times a season, when desert conditions align — around the autumn and spring full moons. The date is announced three weeks ahead; we take four people.
